LAMB MEAT
Our flock is raised on pasture for majority of their lives. They are either out foraging through their pastures or are being fed hay that was grown, cut, and processed on our farm. They are given vegetables that we grow ourselves at times as supplements in their diets, or as treats. They also have access to mineral/kelp 24/7 to ensure their bodies are receiving the nutrients they need to flourish. Our flock is grained a few times throughout the year. Occasionally as treats to ensure we are able to catch them and that they have interactions with us (keep us the good guys). And also during the late stages of pregnancy, help with lamb growth, and during lactation to assist with milk production. Grains and supplements are all purchased from Nerstrand AG, nearby feed mill, and other Minnesota businesses; this ensures we are using resources near us and promoting other Minnesota businesses. Lambs are left with their Mamas until they self-wean naturally in the end of summer/fall. They then are kept until they reach their peak butcher weight. To assist with maintaining our flock any lambs not purchased for breeding stock are grown out to butcher.
